The 1866 Flatside Short Rifle limited edition is Uberti’s way to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the creation of the Winchester Yellowboy. It has the transitional flat-sided receiver of the very earliest 1866 rifles, a unique shape that disappeared in the course of the year 1866.
The original is an early serial number owned by a Jewish-Italian collector who lovingly hid it away during the WWII Nazi occupation and saved it for posterity. He later sold it to Uberti, who has waited for a special occasion to replicate it in its most minute details.
Only 350 units of this rifle will be produced. It is lavishly engraved (hand-chased) like the original, most likely a presentation rifle for a military commission. Perfect for display, it also promises to be a head-turner at the range or in competition.
